Aluminium 1060 is a high-purity alloy containing 99.6 % aluminium, with very small amounts of silicon, iron, copper, manganese, and zinc. As a non-heat-treatable alloy, it provides excellent electrical and thermal conductivity, good corrosion resistance, and superb formability. Typical mechanical properties include tensile strength of about 60–110 MPa and yield strength around 20–80 MPa, depending on temper. Though not designed for high-strength applications, 1060 aluminium offers exceptional ductility and polishability, making it perfect for intricate forged shapes that require precision and a clean surface finish.
